A group of dudes who stan for Meryl Streep are crowdsourcing funds to bring the incredible “Streep Tease” variety show back to the Los Angeles stage.

“Streep Tease” boasts itself as “an evening of Meryl Streep monologues performed by an all-male cast.” Throughout the show, actors channel their “inner Streep” by delivering some of the famed actress's most infamous monologues with their own twist.

The show first played in Los Angeles in 2011 and, after a whirlwind year tour that took it to a number of outlets including to Joe’s Pub in New York City and the annual Fringe Festival, it retired for three years.

A new Kickstarter campaign is asking for $25,000 to revive the show at the Coast Playhouse in Los Angeles.

Roy Cruz, “Streep Tease” creator and cast member, explains in the video below that the idea for the show came during an audition in 2011. “I had just seen The Devil Wears Prada,” he says, explaining how he planned to perform a Stanley Tucci monologue from the film for his agent, but wound up delivering one of Meryl Streep’s because it felt more natural.
