After nine years working for Chick-fil-A, Steve Cammett finally had his fill of hate chicken and resigned in August, citing the company’s blatant intolerance. ”It’s become a safe place for people to hate and expect to be patted on the back for it,” said the 60-year-old grandfather. ”I don’t want to work in that kind of environment.”
A self-described “Chick-fil-A enthusiast,” Cammett told CBS Atlanta about the distasteful behavior he witnessed on Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day as one customer put his arms around coworker expressing gratitude for the company’s stance against perverts. “This person was gay and [the customer] didn’t know it,” says Cammett. “And I just thought, ‘Wow. What has happened here?’”
