Having gone to the vampire and werewolf well a few too many times, Hollywood is now turning the the last member of the monster trifecta: Frankenstein’s Monster. Aaron Eckhart stars as the patchwork man in I, Frankenstein, which sees Franky in the modern day and facing equally superhuman threats to humanity.
“In cinema, and television Frankenstein has become a clunky, inarticulate, sort of catatonic figure,” Eckhart told The Hollywood Reporter. “And we don’t do that at all: He’s a very active, smart and sexy.”
I, Frankenstein was produced by the folks that brought us Underworld, so they know a little something about sexy monsters.
Stuart Beattie (30 Days of Night, G.I. Joe), directed and wrote the film, which also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto, and is based on the I, Frankenstein comic book by Kevin Grevioux.
I, Frankenstein hits theaters January 24. Check out the trailer below.
