Super-Straight Aaron Schock Defends Office Decor With Taylor Swift Lyrics: "Haters Gonna Hate"

America Speaking Out

Hunky, muscular vision of a Congressman Aaron Schock is doing a terrible job downplaying rumors that he is gayer than a rainbow flag at Pride. Yesterday, while walking through the Capitol building, he actually used Taylor Swift lyrics to defend his dubiously well-decorated congressional office.

"I've never been an old crusty white guy…I'm different," he told Jeff Zeleny of ABC News. "And as Taylor Swift said, 'haters are gonna hate.'"

Schock was thrust back into headlines recently after a Washington Post reporter was mistakenly invited into his fiery red office, a "Downton Abbey-inspired" room that is clearly the gay man's answer to the man cave.

But the excessive gayness of Schock's private office isn't the main topic here (yes it is) — it was also alleged that taxpayers may have foot the bill for the intense interior design work.

And even though he probably didn't plan it that way, Schock's explanation for his flamboyant office is also sure to remind everyone about his famous Instagram account and all the all manly things he posts there:

"I came to Congress when I was 27. You know when I take a vacation I don't sit on the beach, I do active things. And so I'm not going to live in a cave, so when I post an Instagram photo of me and my friends, and it's you know...as Taylor Swift said, 'haters are gonna hate.'"

A positively fabulous story for the boys at Sunday Funday brunch this weekend, Aaron.
