ABBA Is Officially Reuniting—And Recording New Music!

"It was like time had stood still."

Fans have been pleading with ABBA to reunite for decades, but aside from public appearances and award shows, Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad have avoided getting the band back together. Until now.

A post on the official ABBA Instagram account revealed the quartet got back in the studio for the first time in more than 35 years to record new music.

“We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we only had been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!”

At least two songs have been recorded, including one titled “I Still Have Faith In You," for a planned TV special airing on NBC and the BBC in December. Talk about a great Christmas present!

Interest in the Swedish super-group has swelled in recent years, thanks to the Mamma Mia musical and subsequent film. Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again is slated to arrive in theaters on July 20.
