Abby Wambach Redefines "Gay Car" In Awesome New Mini Cooper Ad

"You have to honor and own who you are. Period."

Abby Wambach, the openly lesbian soccer star who helped win the Women's World Cup for the U.S. last summer, is speaking out against labels in a new Mini Cooper commercial.

As part of the company's new #DefyLabels campaign, Wambach uses air quotes to mockingly call a Mini Cooper a "gay car."

She's joined by other stars like Serena Williams and Randy Johnson who say the car is also a "chick car" and "a short man's car."

The spot was first aired during the Super Bowl, and you can check it out below.

Mini Cooper also produced a 90-second video of Wambach talking about all the different labels that have been placed on her throughout her life, and how she doesn't care about any of them.

"They all are me and they all aren't me," the soccer star says. "I don't ever give anybody else the power to call me something and have me be affected by it."

She continued, "I realize we are all different, and I accepted who I was at a pretty early age, and once I accepted myself and who I was, I didn't care what you call me. The confidence just came."

Check out her powerful words in the bonus spot below.
