ABC Refuses “Carol” Ad, Saying It Needs To “Provide More Coverage” Despite Showing No Nudity

With antiquated moral codes still among best practices, ABC has rejected a television spot for the Oscar-nominated film, Carol, saying the advertisement does not comply with network standards.

(This coming from the network who proudly introduced many Americans to homosexual anilingus and PrEP on its groundbreaking series, How To Get Away With Murder.)

ABC (whose parent company is Disney) requested that the film’s distributor, The Weinstein Company, “provide more coverage on” the film’s stars, Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara – neither of whom appear nude in the trailer.

No word on whether or not TWC will scrap the spot altogether or make the necessary edits.

Watch the television spot below and judge for yourself.
