Men Are Finally Getting Their Own New York Fashion Week
It only took 60-plus years, but at long last New York Fashion Week is giving menswear its own dedicated showcase, beginning this summer.
"There are many reasons the [Council of Fashion Designers of America] is launching New York Fashion Week: Men’s," said CFDA CEO Steven Kolb. "It gives the designers a business platform to show during their market dates and is an opportunity to demonstrate the collective talent of an important segment of our industry."
Male-focused fashion weeks have already cropped up in London, Paris and Milan, with more expected around the world.
The twice-a-year New York Fashion Week: Men’s will launch July 13 with the debut of Spring/Summer 2016 collections from Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Rag & Bone, Public School and Billy Reid and many other top designers.
