Ada Vox Will Give You Goosebumps With Her Haunting "Creep" Cover On "American Idol"

The San Antonio drag queen made it to the Top 24 on the ABC singing competition.

"One word: Chillbumps."

That is how the Facebook page for American Idol describes the latest performance by Ada Vox, and after watching the video you will see why.

Ada Vox is Adam Sanders' drag persona, who after competing as a boy on Season 12, has returned to wow the judges as his drag queen alter-ego he performs as in San Antonio, Texas.

It worked because Sanders made it to Hollywood Week, and after his show-stopping Radiohead cover Sanders met with the judges for the first time out of drag.

“I wanted to face you all as myself,” Sanders told judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryant and Lionel Richie, before Richie delivered the news that Sanders has made the Top 24.

“You have taken us on a rollercoaster ride,” said Richie.

In his confessional interview before his audition this season, Sanders admitted that after he was dismissed on his previous American Idol appearance—he made it to the top 50—people on social media attacked him for his weight and sexuality.

“It killed me inside,” he confessed. “It killed me almost as much as the people who were telling me that I should kill myself.”

This isn’t the first time there has been a drag queen connection to the popular singing competition franchise. Drag Race Season 6 squirrel friend Courtney Act competed on the first season of Australian Idol, and Danny Noriega, who later became the drag queen, Adore Delano, competed on the seventh season of American Idol back in 2008.

Do you think Sanders could be the first drag queen to win American Idol?
