Adam Lambert on New Boyfriend: “I’m Really Lucky” But “It’s Not Easy”

The "Feel Something" singer opened up about his relationship at the GLAAD Media Awards.

Adam Lambert is off the market. Officially.

The 37-year-old American Idol alum confirmed his new relationship with Spanish model Javi Costa Polo earlier this week on Instagram, captioning cute photos of them together with "LUV U."

When a fan asked if Lambert was “finally making it official,” he responded, “honey we have been official for months. IG isn’t the gatekeeper of our truth!”

Polo also shared a photo of he and Lambert on Instagram, captioned with a lyric from "If I Had You," a song from Lambert's debut album, For Your Entertainment: "But if I had you, that would be the only thing I'd ever need."

The Grammy-nominated singer made an appearance Thursday at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, where he introduced a performance of “Juice” by Lizzo.

“I am so happy," Lambert told an Access reporter on the red carpet when asked about his relationship. "It’s something that—it’s not easy, especially in L.A. Everybody that I know that dates in L.A. is like, ‘Uh, how do we do this?’ So I’m really lucky. I feel really, really content.”

Lambert also spoke to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet about how his new man has influenced his music.

“Well, we’ve only been together a short while,” he explained, “but it’s definitely a sweet finale to the whole process and the whole journey. I think the album, when people hear it, they’ll really like the fact that it kinda goes through the steps that it takes to look for happiness and to look for contentment.”

Last month Lambert released “Feel Something,” a preview of his fourth studio album and first solo album in four years. "Feel Something" is his first new song since "Two Fux" in 2017.

“I don’t need to feel love," he sings on the track. "I just want to feel something."

Lambert also shared an emotional letter to fans on social media that details his recent mental health struggles and how he ultimately pulled himself "out of the darkness."

"The life of a bachelor can be a laugh, with plenty of flings, but after awhile it starts to feel empty," he wrote. "Between frustrations with my career and many lost connections, I felt numb—and though I wanted to fall in love, I knew I wasn’t ready."

Lambert was last linked to entertainment reporter Sauli Koskinen but they ended their relationship in 2013.
