He will, he will rock you
Glamberts – make sure you’re sitting down for this one. Adam Lambert is reportedly replacing the late Freddie Mercury as the lead singer for Queen. You may commence screaming now.
“The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fuc*ing great songs,” Adam announced.”It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would’ve been proud of.”
This isn’t the first time our favorite guylinered singer will perform with Brian May and Roger Taylor. He sang with them during one of his final performances for American Idol in 2009 and again at the MTV EMAs this past November.
Adam is staying humble about the gig, saying it’s “impossible” to replace Freddie but it is a “great honor”.
Hollywood Records is not confirming this rumor in a total “we are working on salary negotiations and trying to play hardball” kind of way. They say: “The Daily Star item only mentions that Adam may perform with Queen at Sonisphere. This is not confirmed. Nothing has been signed. However, if this were to happen, Queen would be returning to the setting of their final concert with Freddie Mercury, which took place in 1986.”
This might not happen guys! But if it were we already have a plan for how we’d promote it!
