The stars came out for Logo’s inaugural Trailblazers awards ceremony, where pioneers in the fight for LGBT equality were honored: Adam Levine and Fun’s Nate Ruess were on hand to introduce honorees Edie Windsor and Roberta Kaplan, the plaintiff and attorney in the Supreme Court case that toppled DOMA.
Also taking the stage were A Great Big World, Pete Wentz and former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, who honored Ugandan LGBT-rights activist John “Longjones” Abdallah Wambere as a International Trailblazer.
Demi Lovato, meanwhile, gave props to Orange is the New Black, honored for its groundbreaking portrayal of lesbian, bi and trans women. Daniel Radcliffe, a Trevor Project Hero, singled out four Young Trailblazers who are leading the next generation of activists, and True Blood star Joe Mangianello introduced Sia, who performed her hit “Chandelier” with the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus.
