Adele's Bodyguard Peter Van Der Veen Sets Fire To The Internet

She got the right man for the job.

Adele continues to shatter records with 25, but now that the initial heat from the release has subsided, another internet firestorm has begun—this time centered on her bodyguard, the improbably but somehow inevitably named Peter Van der Veen.

Look at him. Of course he's going to be named Peter Van der Veen.

He's like a combination of Dominic Purcell, Mr. Clean and one of those European soccer players who gets his kit off for charity calendars.

But who is this Peter Van der Veen?

Here's what we know: He's from Holland, he works for a personal protection company and he used to be a bodybuilder.

Oh, and he was Mr. Europe 2005.

Most importantly, he has a history of protecting the world's greatest valuables: Before working for Adele, he was Lady Gaga's bodyguard for years.

When it came time to get serious, Peter was all business, and didn't suffer overzealous fans gladly.

Gaga was so impressed, she actually asked him to record some vocals for her Born This Way track "Government Hooker." (He sounds exactly how you'd expect "Peter Van der Veen" to sound.)

He also worked for Iggy Azalea. (Okay, the guy's not perfect.)

But looking at Peter and Adele together, it's impossible not to think of her belting out "I Have Nothing" to him.
