On October 19, New York gay Harry told his partner, Lance, they were going to a birthday brunch aboard the Frying Pan, a former salvage boat turned event venue docked on the West Side of Manhattan. When they got there, though, Lance was shocked to see dozens of people dancing in unison to Nena's 1983 hit, “99 Red Balloons."

As the song ended, the performers released red balloons into the sky, and Harry made his move. “I’ve loved you since the moment I kissed you," he tells Lance. "You make me laugh. You make me happy. You complete me. So will you marry me?”

Are old-fashioned, down-on-one-knee proposals just passe? Oh who are we kidding—this is adorable!
