Julianne Moore and Annette Bening are lesbian moms (Amaze-lez-balls!!!!!!) and when their kids (Josh Hutcherson, Mia Wasikowska) track down their sperm donor dad (Mark Ruffalo) things get interesting…

And hello — a big lesbian family comedy with big stars!!!?? How often does this happen? So to celebrate, we sent AfterEllen’s fabulous Bridget McManus to interview the film’s cast and director. Watch and fall in love with them all…

Brit-grime rapper Lady Sovereign is gay. Which is sort of obvious and all (just watch the fab “So Human” video above and you’ll see what I mean), but it’s cool that she’s talking about it, eh? Turns out it was a personal issue for years and causing her drama and meltdowns or something like that.

So… After talking earlier this year on the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother about having lesbian relationships, L-Sov’s now served up an interview with the UK’s Diva magazine all about her personal life and juggling coming-out issues and her public persona.

Here’s a bit of what she told Diva:

“Magazines would always ask about it but [questions about my sexuality] would get stopped by my publicists. It was my choice, too, because I was a bit worried about it but now I don’t really give a s–t. You can’t hide away forever. It’s just stupid and now I’ve come out I feel a lot more comfortable with myself. But it was a bit scary back then because some people do have horrible opinions.”

Catherine Opie is one of the most prominent photographers working today. And she’s a world-famous lesbian. Her work has featured transgender models, sunbleached streetscapes, bleeding scars on women’s bodies and always a kickass approach to challenging perceptions of gender and sexuality. I love her work.

And now there’s a big show of her photos up in NYC at the Gladstone Gallery. And from the looks of it, this one’s got some celebrity lesbians in the mix. The show’s press release says: “Girlfriends” combines brand new color photographs with a selection of black and white photographs from Opie’s archive that have never been printed… In this new series she explores the nature of butch-dyke identity.”

Above, a portrait of musician JD Samson (Le Tigre, Men), and below an arresting shot of L Word star Katherine Moennig. Both are lesbian icons and Opie’s portraits are magnetic. Also, in the show (up through April 24th) are k.d. lang and Jenny Shimizu. Go see ‘em!

The Hollywood Reporter has a pretty great video series where they interview Hollywood types. Actors, writers… People you like. For some pre-Emmys fun, they round up some awesome TV and movie women for a chat about showbiz. Their “Women of Comedy” incudes Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, Christina Applegate, Jane Krakowski, Mary-Louise Parker and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss talking shop.

Our smart/sassy friends at AfterElton shared the above video last week showing what would happen if Twilight’s Edward Cullen ever set his creepy stalker sights on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The video, created by Rebellious Pixels, makes use of the teen dramas to highlight just how much ass Buffy kicks and how weird and slightly disturbing Edward Cullen is.

Maybe it’s because I’ve never read the books or seen the movie, but I’ve never understood what’s so special about the Twilight series or the apparent romantic god that is Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson. I love that this movie turns the vampire storyline upside down and hilariously portrays Sarah Michelle Gellar as the ultimate bad ass. Check it out!

Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon is engaged and plans to get hitched! At yesterday’s big Broadway Impact rally in NYC to voice support for gay marriage, Nixon announced she and her longtime girlfriend Christine Marinoni have swapped rings and plan to make it official! Nice!

Today the big gay sites AfterElton and AfterEllen have revealed the results of their annual HOT 100 survey, wherein gays and lesbians from across the land voted for who they think is most shag-tastic. And NPH and Mrs. Ellen came in on top for who the queers love!

Yep, Neil Patrick Harris knocked Jake Gyllenhaal off of the top spot (Jakey had won the last 2 years); and Portia de Rossi took this year’s lesbian crown of foxiness, which had been worn by Tina Fey and Leisha Hailey in the past. It’s kinda cool to have actual out gays topping the list, right?

So, did your picks make the list? Go see! Both Barack and Michelle Obama made the lists; which means for the first time in a looooong time, the U.S. has a sexy first couple!
