AIDS Service Center NYC Is Searching For The Big Apple’s Top Drag Queen

Tony winner Donna McKechnie hosts New York’s Best in Drag! on May 9

As we inch toward the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race, another search is on—this one for the best drag performer in New York City.

On May 9, AIDS Service Center New York City (ASNYC) will host the 2016 New York’s Best in Drag! competition, which sees 10 queens competing for the crown and raising funds for medical care, housing, workplace training and more for people with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses.

Tony winner Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line) co-hosts the evening with NY1 theater reporter Frank DiLella, as Bobbi Soxx, Destiny Devine, Holly Box-Springs, Lady Quesa’Dilla, Lady SinAGaga (above), Machine Dazzle, Mistress Wolverinna, Olive d’ Nightlife, Sasha Pierce Davenport and Strawberry Fields vie for audience votes.

The show also features a special performance by 2015 winner Delighted Tobehere, directed by choreographer Robert La Fosse.
