Alan Ritchson, New ‘Hunger Games’ Cast Member, Has ‘American Idol’ Past

Alan Ritchson may be about to catch attention on the big screen as Gloss in Catching Fire (aka, the next installment of The Hunger Games), he’s already spent time shining on the small screen as a serenading Lothario on American Idol.

Back in Season 3, Ritchson made his mark clearing out Simon and Randy to sing only to a smitten Paula Abdul.  He made it to Hollywood, but was swiftly cut from the running. His character in Catching Fire fairs much better — until Katniss and her arrow have their way.

Also in his ouvre is a turn as Aquaman on Smallville, a male stripper on a Starz’s Head Case and as a love interest to Teddy on the new 90210.   Stripping, gay superheros?  We’re totally into this.
