“Drag Race” Alum Alaska Slated to Star in Final “Sharknado” Movie

Hold on to your wig, henny!

Get ready, kweens: Alaska Thunderfuck of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame is slated to star in the final installment of SyFy’s Sharknado film series.

The Sharknado franchise has a cult following, with fans across the globe gagging over its ludicrous storylines and even more ridiculous animation. The first Sharknado movie premiered in July 2013, and since then, five films have followed suit.

Now, The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time, the sixth installment of the beloved series, will see Alaska ward off impending doom alongside Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott, and La Toya Jackson.

Alaska, who placed second in Season 5 of Drag Race and won Season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars, took to Twitter to promote the news, sharing an article about her starring role with aptly chosen shark emojis.

This isn’t the first time the franchise has tapped Drag Race talent: Derrick Barry from Season 8 appeared in Sharknado: The 4th Awakens, the fourth iteration of the series.

The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time premieres August 19 on SyFy.
