Clueless star Alicia Silverstone is the latest actor to join the cast of King Cobra, the upcoming James Franco-produced film recounting the murder of gay porn producer Bryan Kocis.

She joins a heavy-hitter cast including James Franco, Christian Slater, Molly Ringwald, Disney actor Garrett Clayton (Teen Beach Movie), and Pretty Little Liar's Keegan Allen.

Based on a true story, the film explores the events leading up to Kocis' murder at the hands of porn actors Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes.

Slater plays a Kocis-type character who discovers rising star Brent Corrigan (Clayton), and is then targeted by a rival producer and former male escort (Franco) and his boyfriend (Allen).

Ringwald plays Slater’s sister Amy, with Silverstone as Brent Corrigan’s mom, Janette.

The film marks the second collaboration between writer-director Kelly and actor-producer Franco, after I Am Michael, another true tale brought to the big screen.

“We could not be more thrilled to have secured such a strong cast of exceptionally talented actors to lead the King Cobra cast,” said Kelly. “[They] have consistently pushed the boundaries of film and culture at large with iconic performances. It’s been amazing watching them transform into these unique, fascinating characters.”

Production of King Cobra was recently completed but a release date has not yet been announced.
