GHB, gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid, is widely used as a anesthetic to treat conditions such as insomnia, depression, narcolepsy and even alcoholism. Unfortunately, this case is not the first one where someone has died after being supplied GHB. A 15 year old girl, Samantha Reid, died in 1999 after being given a drink which had been spiked with GHB. Reid’s death led to the passing of the Date-Rape Drug Prohibition Act in the United States

Port will has been remanded in custody and will make an appearance on Wednesday, as ordered by Deputy District Judge Shlomo Kreiman.
