Allison Williams Cuts A Boyish Figure In First "Peter Pan" Pic

Here's the first pic of Allison Williams in the upcoming NBC musical Peter Pan Live!, serving...what's the opposite of fish?

Though I'm still not fully on board with this production — sign up Audra McDonald and I'd change my showtune — Williams makes a pretty cute boy. Like a young Brian Williams, she is.

The 26-year-old Girls star has wanted to play the character since she was three years old, and hopefully she's been rehearsing since then. Speaking of rehearsing, Williams shared this Instagram of her learning to fly:

You know what else was flying? The shade, in the comments section. One Pan-atic hashtagged "disappointment" at Allisons's casting, but Williams responded with the kind of cheery optimism that's required for this role:

Really sorry you have that impression! All I can say is that I've been working my butt off (14 hours today - whew), and I sincerely hope I can turn your expectations around come December. I promise to take good care of the role. I love Peter Pan so much that I wouldn't have gone out for it if I didn't think I could do it. Promise.

Fine, so I'll give you a chance, Williams. Any chance of getting Lena Dunham to play one of the Lost Boys?

Peter Pan Live! airs December 4 on NBC.
