I’ve always loved, loved, looooved Amanda Lepore. And her latest video for “Cotton Candy” only makes me worship her more. It’s truly the most fun, most glamorous, most stylish, gayest, and most searingly delightful thing I’ve sing this year!
The 1950s/60s romantic comedy Doris Day/Mamie Van Doren movie-poster styling of the entire thing is genius, and fits Amanda’s deliriously femme fabulousness perfectly. And I’m even smitten by Cazwell as a dark-haired, goofily cute, Clark-Kent-ish romeo. Adorable! (I was hoping for a little Cazwell-tastic rap break in the middle there, somewhere. But you can’t have everything, I guess.)
Also, the song is a total, toe-tapping, twist-inducing treat!
Basically, it’s all the summer sunshine you need. Mwah!
