"American Horror Story" Getting Spinoff Series—About O.J. Simpson

American Horror Story: Freak Show hasn't even debuted yet, and Ryan Murphy is already working on a spinoff series: Deadline reports the next project for TV's Golden Boy is a new anthology series, American Crime Story—and Season One will focus on the murder trial of O.J. Simpson.

“The O.J. case was as tragic as it was fascinating — it seemed like everyone had a stake in the outcome. It was really the beginning of the modern tabloid age.”

The series will be told from the perspective of the case's lawyers, who included defense attorneys Robert Shapiro, Johnnie Cochran, F. Lee Bailey, Alan Dershowitz and Robert Kardashian  (Yes, Kim's dad).

The tale Murphy and AHS co-creator Brad Falchuk are spinning is based on Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson and will touch on the LAPD’s tense history with the city’s African-American community and “behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court” that contributed toward Simpson going free.

If they get Jessica Lange to play Marcia Clark, we're in.
