The first details about the upcoming season of American Horror Story have just been revealed, and it sounds like good news for fans of the freaky franchise.
Ryan Murphy told reporters at the Television Critics Association on Thursday that season seven of the anthology series will take place in modern times, and that original cast members Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are officially signed on for more spooky scenes together.
Murphy wouldn’t reveal the theme of the next season, of course, but said it probably won’t be shrouded in as much mystery as last year’s Roanoke was.
“Last year was successful. I don’t know if we’ll do it again,” Murphy said at the event. “I think maybe we’ll release some of it earlier than we did. But I just started writing it, I haven’t even cast it yet — except for Sarah and Evan.”
Even more exciting news for AHS fans came in the form of an announcement that the anthology was renewed for two more cycles in addition to season seven, meaning the FX show will be on our screens until at least 2019.
