Amy Poehler To Produce Gay Romantic Comedy For ABC

The multigenerational show will be set in Miami.

It was recently announced that Amy Poehler will executive produce a new gay Odd Couple-style romcom for ABC.

The Parks and Rec alum will produce Family Style under the banner of her company, Paper Kite Productions. The single-camera, half-hour show will follow two mismatched men from different cultures as they find love in a family-run restaurant in Miami.

The plot is inspired by the real-life experiences of Scott King, the showrunner of Poehler's other TV project Difficult People. King will co-write the script alongside Claudia Lonow (Crowded, How to Live With Your Parents, Friends With Benefits, Accidentally on Purpose).

This marks the third sale for the production company this season. The others include a multi-camera ABC comedy starring comedy-legend Carol Burnett and the Seann William Scott comedy The Baby for NBC.

Paper Kite currently produces Comedy Central's Broad City and Hulu's Difficult People.
