An Orgasm A Day, Keeps The Prostate Cancer Away New Study Suggests

A research team at Harvard Medical School have concluded that regular orgasms significantly lower the odds of getting prostate cancer by 20%.

The study followed 32,000 healthy men over nearly 20 years, with almost 4,000 of them being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The participating men were asked about their average monthly frequency of ejaculation between the ages of 20 to 29, 40 to 49, and in 1991 (the year prior to the questionnaire). The findings concluded that the more frequently the guys ejaculated, the lower his risk was of a prostate cancer prognosis became.

“While these data are the most compelling to date on the potential benefit of ejaculation on prostate cancer development, they are observational data and should be interpreted somewhat cautiously, said Dr. Jennifer Rider, of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. "At the same time, given the lack of modifiable risk factors for prostate cancer, the results of this study are particularly encouraging."

While there's no explanation yet as to how this is possible, one speculation, according to the study, is that the simple force of ejaculating acts as a sort of "flush," releasing any malignant chemicals in the prostate.

Another thought is that the release of sperm gives way to new, healthier sperm cells that are regenerated.

Regardless of the cause, it's a great way to stay healthy! Get to it, boys.
