When in doubt, blame a hacker: CNN anchor Anderson Cooper says his Twitter account was hacked after a tweet posted in which he called President Donald Trump a “tool” and a “pathetic loser.”
After Roy Moore lost his bid for the Senate, Trump tweeted he knew the former Alabama Supreme Court justice “[would] not be able to win the General Election…. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!”
Shortly after the 6am post, a response came from @Andersoncooper, declaring “Oh really? You endorsed him, you tool! Pathetic loser!”
The tweet, which garnered more than 16,000 likes and 2,700 retweets, was eventually taken down after Cooper said he was victim of identity theft.
“Just woke up to find out someone gained access to my twitter account,” he posted. “I have not sent a tweet in days or replied to any tweets. We are looking into how this happened.”

CNN confirmed Cooper’s account was hacked and that it was “working with Twitter to secure the account.”
This morning someone gained access to the handle @andersoncooper and replied to POTUS. We're working with Twitter to secure the account.
