Anderson Cooper will not—I repeat, will not—be called a publicity whore, you guys.
Speaking with Andy Cohen, Cooper blasted Jones for claiming that his publicly coming out was all a stunt to boost ratings for his daytime talk show. Cooper launched a tirade with a verbal takedown of the onetime television personality. “I seem to remember her hawking her wedding every single day to get free products when she was on The View, and I seem to recall her lying about gastric bypass surgery and making everyone else lie about it as well.”
“So, for her to emerge out of the shadows (and my mom was like who is Star Jones ?), I don’t even want to give Star Jones the attention,” he continued. “We invited her to the show and she turned it down.”
Jones quickly responded:
I was wrong. @andersoncooper didn’t come out as a ratings ploy. He used ME talking about him coming out @todayshow as a ratings ploy. #mybad
