Anderson Cooper Was Not Impressed With SNL's Spoof Of Him Either

"I thought it was a little snide."

Last week's Saturday Night Live cold open spoofing the Democratic debate was mostly a win – Larry David as Bernie Sanders and Alec Baldwin as Jim Webb both nailed it and Kate McKinnon's Hillary Clinton is the gift that keeps on giving.

One thing, however, was noticeably amiss: the Anderson Cooper impression.

SNL newcomer Jon Rudnitsky gave a stiff, un-Cooper-like spin to our beloved silver fox and Twitter, appropriately, popped off.

Last night, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Coops revealed that he too was not a fan of the impression.

"I'm not easily offended," Cooper stated, "but I didn't think it was a very good... Seth Meyers did a spoof of me years ago that was really funny."

"I'm all for being spoofed," he continued. "I thought it was a little oddly, you know it was like the only thing he knew about me was that I'm gay, so he went with it."

"I didn't read it that way," interjected the night's other guest, Molly Ringwald. "I just thought he was playing it very stoic."

"No, no" Cooper and Cohen responded, both shaking their head.

"I got a little Truman Capote vibe," Cooper said. "I thought it was a little snide."

Interestingly, he revealed that SNL wanted him to play himself for the sketch, but unfortunately, he was on his AC2 tour with Andy Cohen that night. Ah, well.
