Andreja Pejić, the first openly transgender model profiled by Vogue, has landed her first cosmetic campaign, appearing in a promo for Make Up For Ever (MUFE).
Pejić appears alongside actress Jamie Chung and makeup artist Mélanie Inglessi in a short video highlighting the importance of self-acceptance and individuality.
The three discuss the important role makeup has played in their lives, as well as what it means to be true to yourself. That all makes sense, considering the tag for the campaign is “BE BOLD. BE UNEXPECTED. BE YOU.”
“When I was a teenager, make-up started playing a really big role,” Pejić, says in a voiceover. “And it became deeper than just looking pretty. It sort of allowed me to feel comfortable in my own skin.”
She also has raised over $63,000 for her Kickstarter with the goal of creating a documentary about her transition process.
Talk about a baller year.
