Andrew Garfield covers the new issue of EW, hitting newsstands this Friday, and in an exclusive interview inside the pages of the mag, reveals that he had thought about the character of Spider-Man being gay. And romancing a famous Friday Night Lights alum.

Garfield tells EW that in a chat with one producer he was all about Peter Parker exploring his homsexuality, or at least musing over the idea.

I was like, ‘What if MJ is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!…So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?

What's more, he even had his love interest all picked out, and he picked good.

I’ve been obsessed with Michael B. Jordan since The Wire. He’s so charismatic and talented. It’d be even better—we’d have interracial bisexuality!

Now that is a movie we want to see.
