Andy Cohen and John Mayer are close. So close that Mayer recently serenaded the Watch What Happens Live host for his 50th birthday, covering Diana Ross’ “It’s My House.” The song ended with a kiss.

Their obvious love for one another has led some to suspect that the pair's bond is more than just platonic. Cohen has now addressed the rumors in an interview with CNN, dispelling the whispers that the two are secretly dating.

"Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time," Cohen said when asked if he was surprised people thought they were an item, but confirmed that this is not the case.

"I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption."

He added later in the interview that one of his last phone calls was with the singer and musician, whom he said he had Facetimed with at 2 in the morning.

Cohen is single, confirming back in March that he and former boyfriend Clifton Dassuncao had broken up.

Concerning what he is looking for in a partner, he joked, "Someone who is like John Mayer."

"What am I looking for?" Cohen said, getting serious. "I'm looking for someone strong, independent, smart, who has their own thing going on."
