In my continuing search for musical boyfriends, I’ve decided to nominate Andy Grammer, whose new single “Fine By Me” is delivering low-key beach rock vibes across this great land.
This song is perfectly charming, in that Jason Mraz, sensitive-guy-at-the-coffee-shop way. It’s not going to reinvent pop music or anything, but it would make a good addition to a driving mix or a playlist for your patio party.
Honestly, what I like the most about this song (and its video) is Grammer’s vibe. He seems a little cocky, even though he’s telling his lady that he loves her completely. There’s a slight smirk on his face that suggests there’s saucy playfulness beneath those reggae-lite rhythms. If he could add that attitude to his music, then I’d be really interested.
