Anthony Rapp And Wilson Cruz Wore Cute Matching Starfleet Pajamas On "Star Trek: Discovery"

"One tends to worry when they're doomed to love a brilliant, but reckless maniac."

On Star Trek: Discovery Anthony Rapp plays Lt. Stamets, the franchise's first canonically gay character. Not only that, he's in a relationship with a fellow Starfleet officer, Dr. Culber, played by fellow out actor Wilson Cruz.

The show has been slowly revealing aspects of their relationship, and in last night's episode we got to see the couple doing normal couple stuff: Namely brushing their teeth in the morning, wearing adorable matching pjs.

Rapp told NewNowNext having a friend of nearly 20 years as his on-screen boyfriend "brought real comfort... A profound trust, camaraderie and warmth."

Response to the scene was overwhelmingly positive.

"I am a 50 year old gay man and grew up on Star Trek's messages of celebrating diversity and inclusion," wrote one fan on Instagram. "It brought tears to my eyes...to see this scene. My greatest hope is that such visibility will make it easier for today's young men and women to find acceptance and self respect than was the case for myself and others of earlier generations. Here's to seeing much more of Culber and Stammets living and loving just as equally as the other great Trek couples."

Though a few people were downright nasty.

"This is so unrealistic," tweeted one person, "By the 23rd century homosexuality would have been bred out of the human population by selective abortions."

And one viewer was a little confused.

Basically, the big takeaway is the couple are a hit—and we all want Starfleet pajamas.
