Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, who has described natural disasters as God's wrath in response to the legalization of same-sex marriage, had his home destroyed by the devastating floods affecting much of southern Louisiana right now.

Perkins called the flood one of "biblical proportions" on his radio show yesterday, and said he'd have to live in a camper for six months until the damage is repaired.

Dead State reports that contrary to his previous statements, Perkins said this particular flood was not God's way of punishing the world for being gay-friendly, but rather an "incredible, encouraging spiritual exercise to take you to the next level in your walk with an almighty and gracious God who does all things well."

The infamous hate monger is reviled by the LGBT community for his tireless efforts in lobbying against the Supreme Court's same-sex marriage decision in 2015, and for encouraging parents to reject their LGBT children.

Looks like God isn't too fond of him, either.
