Antoni From "Queer Eye" and Justin Trudeau Are Brunch Squad Goals
Canadian Queer Eye stans are in for a treat: Antoni Porowski, the show's resident food and wine expert, is attending a Pride-themed brunch in Montreal this August with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The brunch in question is part of a fundraiser for Canada's Liberal Party, which Trudeau has led since 2013. Porowski won't be cooking, but given his affinity for avocados, we hope there will be some avo toast on the menu du jour.
The August 19 date coincides with Montreal Pride weekend—a natural fit for Porowski, who was born in Montreal and lived there until he moved to the U.S. at age 12.
And the out Queer Eye star's rapport with the Canadian PM isn't surprising, either. Since he took office in November 2015, Trudeau has made strides for Canada's queer community, including his historic apology to victims of anti-gay discrimination at the hands of the Canadian government.
In 2016, he also became the first sitting Canadian Prime Minister to march in Toronto Pride.
Dying to meet this dream team over mimosas and French toast? Anybody is welcome to attend the brunch—that is, if you can cough up $75-$350 CAD for a spot at the table.
