Bloop. “Pop Up Video hasn’t been on VH1 for 10 years.”
Bloop. “The network plans on rebooting the series this fall with a 60 episode order.”
Those bloops were pop up noises by the way. Well, if you were dying to know what they served at craft services during the shoot for “Judas” you’re in luck! According to The Hollywood Reporter, VH1 is planning on bringing back to life everyone’s favorite Tuesday afternoon staying-home-sick form of infotainment, Pop Up Video. This, coupled with all of those multi-camera sitcom pilots during upfronts and a 48-hour Born This Way listening marathon has got me 110% convinced that I’m living in the early ‘90s. WHERE MY POGS AT??
Woody Thompson, the original co-creator of the series, is on board to executive produce. While the show will still feature ironic “info nuggets” (their words not mine) over music videos, there will also be some changes. Hip hop and rap videos will no longer be off limits (as they were before because of MTV) and there will be more attempts to incorporate social media.
Alright, let’s get these pop ups rolling. For a quick walk down memory lane, please enjoy the The Proclaimers video below:
