Word on the street is Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt are all in to reprise their roles when the iconic 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada becomes a Broadway musical. Groundbreaking.

Kevin McCollum, Broadway producer of modern classics like Rent, Avenue Q and In the Heights, informed The AP that his partnership with 20th Century Fox has granted him the rights to turn at least two of the company's films into hit Broadway musicals — Mrs. Doubtfire and The Devil Wears Prada.

There isn't a timeline for when the show will make it to the stage (by all means, move at a glacial pace, you know how that thrills us), but when it does, Streep will most likely revisit her role as Runway editrix Miranda Priestly.

In 2012, she told British Vogue that she'd be interested in returning to the film franchise if a sequel ever presented itself, though she'd "have to lose the fucking weight" for it.

Emily Blunt, whose character Emily Charlton famously went on a cubed cheese diet in the film, said she'd also reprise her role for the silver screen after a "skinny diet." She's just one stomach flu away from her goal weight.

Anne Hathaway hans't ever commented on the possibility of appearing in a sequel or stage adaptation of the film, but as a Broadway veteran, she'd more than likely jump at the chance.

Obviously, the musical would need all three stars (and Stanley Tucci) to come back if it wants to be absolutely perfect. 'Are we reaching for the stars here? No, not really.'
