Pop icon Ariana Grande is the latest celebrity to say “Good morning” to Baltimore!

Grande announced on Twitter today that she has been cast in the role of Penny Pingleton in NBC's upcoming star-studded musical Hairspray Live!

She even fangirled out over Broadway's original Penny, Kerry Butler:

For those of you who are not well versed in all of the different Hairspray characters-for shame-Penny is Tracy Turnblad's best friend who begins an interracial romance with her classmate, Seaweed.

Penny may not have many solos, but watch the number, "Without Love" from the 2007 musical remake below and picture Queen Grande slaying every note:

Hairspray Live! is scheduled to air December 7 on NBC.
