Ariana Grande Marks One-Year Anniversary of Manchester Terror Attack

"Thinking of you all today and every day," the singer tweeted.

Pop superstar Ariana Grande marked the one-year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing with a short, heartfelt tweet to her fans.

"Thinking of you all today and every day," the singer wrote. "I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day."

On May 22, 2017, a suicide bomber killed 22 concertgoers and wounded roughly 500 outside Grande's concert at the Manchester Arena. In the wake of the tragedy, the "Break Free" singer organized a star-studded "One Love Manchester" benefit concert, which raised over $13 million for victims.

Grande was later named Manchester's first "honorary citizen."

In a recent interview with Time, Grande discussed how the tragedy inspired her forthcoming album, Sweetener. In the video for the album's lead single, "No Tears Left To Cry," the singer appears upside-down, she says the way life used to feel. "We’ve messed with the idea of not being able to find the ground again," says Grande. "Because I feel like I’m finally landing back on my feet now."

Grande also noted that the bee—a symbol of industrious Manchester—inspired the title of Sweetener. "When you're handed a challenge, instead of sitting there and complaining about it, why not try to make something beautiful?"

As Variety reports, the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attack was marked in Britain Tuesday with a moment of silence after a memorial service in Manchester Cathedral. On Twitter, Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, shared a message of remembrance.
