Ariana Grande's Got The Broadway Itch

Grande joined composer Jason Robert Brown for a surprise performance.

Long before Ariana Grande licked a doughnut and declared her hatred for America, she was on her way to certified Broadway baby status following her debut in Jason Robert Brown's 2008 musical, 13.

Superstardom came a-calling for the pint-sized chanteuse, with the subsequent years spent rocking arena stages instead of the Great White Way.

While Grande has made no indication of a return to B'way, she did reunite with Brown last night for a surprise performance at Hollywood’s Catalina Bar and Grill. Keeping the look casual, she had her hair pulled back in a ponytail while rocking a baggy sweatshirt and horn-rimmed glasses.

"You can't tell if she's holding a tiny kitten or just finished her favorite novel," commented Vulture's Emma Barrie.

Grand performed "The Lamest Place in the World" and “Brand New You” (with an assist from Wicked's Shoshana Bean) from 13 along with “Getting Out” from his album Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes.
