In the Oscar-nominated movie, Call Me By Your Name, there’s a very memorable scene involving stars Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, and a filled peach.
Well apparently, the cinematic moment is etched into the minds of Hammer fans (Hammer heads? Armie Wives?) because instead of asking for selfies or his autograph on a photo, the star says he’s often asked to sign peaches.
The 31-year-old actor told Stephen Colbert on Monday (July 16), that after performances of Hammer’s Broadway show Straight White Men, fans meet him at the stage door and ask him to sign their peach.
“They’re going to put that peach on a shelf because it has my signature, and in ten days it’s going to putrefy and their entire place is gonna be full of fruit flies,” Armie said on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, who suggested the signed peach might be part of an at-home art installation. “Yeah, watch it wither like Donald Trump’s presidency,” Armie joked.
If you’re not in on the joke, it’s probably a good time for you to finally see the movie.
