Footage from a police-car dash cam gives new insight into Reese Witherspoon’s drunken rantings the night she and husband Jim Toth were pulled over for drunk driving.
TMZ has posted the footage, taken in the early morning of April 19, and America’s Sweetheart was definitely throwing some “Do you know who I am?” shade:
Reese: “Do you know my name sir?”
Officer: “Don’t need to know.”
Reese “You don’t NEED to know my name?”
Officer: “Not quite yet.”
Reese: “YOU’RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHO I AM!”
The officer really just wanted to deal with Toth, who was ultimately charged with driving under the influence. But Witherspoon was standing by her man, and getting in the cop’s face.
Reese: “I have done nothing against the law.”
Officer: “Yes you did, you didn’t obey my orders.”
Reese: “I HAVE TO OBEY YOUR ORDERS??”
At one point, she gets all patriotic, claiming “I’m an American citizen … I’m allowed to stand on American ground,” and insisting the officer was “harassing me as an American citizen.”
Reese later admitted on Good Morning America that she told the police “crazy things”—like she was pregnant and needed to pee—because she panicked that her husband was being arrested.
Oh honey, you should have just told them you were researching a movie about a drunk white-trash chick and her gold-digging husband. Y’know, Sweet Home Alabama 2.
