If you’ve spent any time with little girls, then My Little Pony is familiar to you: Colorful equines with “cutie marks” and flashy names like Rainbow Dash, Cheerilee and Starsong.

But the fab fillies are also favorites with a subset of grown men: These (mostly straight) male My Little Pony fans, known as bronies, are the subject of Bronies: Adult Fans of My Little Pony, premiering tonight as part of Logo's WHAT!? Documentary series.

@LogoTV and @Buzzfeed are hosting a Bronies Twitter chat with MLP superfans Katie Notopoulos and Ryan Broderick today, October 14, at 2pm. Just use the hashtag "#AskABrony" and all your Brony questions will be answered!

Ask a good question and your Tweet might appear on air during Logo TV's premiere of the Bronies documentary! Don't forget to use the #askabrony hashtag!

Directed by Laurent Malaquais, Bronies explores the not-so-small adult fandom of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and all the show’s  adjacent merch. (Get your Brony name with the My Little Pony name generator.)

Actor John de Lancie, who provided voicework on MLP, teamed up with show creator Lauren Faust, producer Michael Brockhoff and voice actor Tara Strong to get the film funded with a Kickstarter campaign (the site’s second most successful documentary project) and the crew interviews bronies in Germany, England and at the annual BronyCon gathering in New York.

From the film’s press release:

This documentary discovers that the essential story elements of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic – have a universality that extends beyond age and gender, and that Bronies are pushing the boundaries of what society deems appropriate in their quest for a kinder, gentler future.

Guys subverting gender norms? Ponies with luxurious cotton-candy hair and drag-queen names? Yeah, we could get into that.

Bronies: Adult Fans of My Little Pony airs October 14 at 10pm ET/9pm CT on Logo TV.
