Ask the Expert: Does a bad first kiss mean it's a bad match?

First of all, I admire you for trying online dating because I know it's not the easiest thing to do. Good for you for knowing that you really need to put yourself out there and be confident in who you are to go through with the date!
I think that chemistry between two people is priceless: if the connection is there emotionally, then everything else can be taken care of. And when I say "everything else," I mean the physical stuff.
Are you a good teacher? Have you ever tried to teach somebody anything, whether it be how to cook, how to play tennis, how to paint, etc? The reason why I'm asking is because you can likely teach whomever you want how to kiss the way you want them to. Trust me, I've had A LOT of dates with a lot of bad kissers (at first) and I promise you I made sure to change that - or at least tried my best!
Everyone kisses differently, and everyone likes things differently. If everyone was the same sexually, life would actually be boring, don't you think?
It is so tough to actually find someone you can connect with, who you can get along with, and most importantly who you have FUN with! In my experience most of my first kisses weren't great at all - but sometimes one (or both) of you is nervous, maybe you're in public, maybe you haven't known each other that long. I would give this person the benefit of the doubt and think about WHY you wanted to kiss them in the first place.
At least give your online date one more chance. Get into a more romantic setting and be the initiator. Kiss the way you like to kiss and try to train the other person to do what you're doing. Seduce the other person with your techniques and hopefully they'll catch on.
The worst case? The other person is a terrible learner. Give them three strikes until they're out!
