A "sex-starved" hair stylist for Asos, a British fashion and beauty retailer, was apprehended after placing a secret camera in a men's restroom, Evening Standard reports.

Dominic Hendy, 28, hid the camera behind toilet paper rolls in a single-person stall during his company’s summer party last month at Hawker House, a popular London food hall.

Hendy pleaded guilty in court to voyeurism, specifically installing equipment to observe other people for his own sexual gratification.

Prosecutor Chidi Ikwuakolam said the hidden camera, which was discovered by a cleaner, "showed full-frontal views of people using the toilet and the defendant was identified as the person who placed the camera in the location."

“He was without sexual contact for a year and felt stressed and was not thinking straight,” Hendy's lawyer, Alexander Goscimski, explained to the court. “He has been struggling with anxiety and depression and is on medication.”

“Prior to this offense he had been in a relationship," added probation officer Patrick Acres. "When that ended it sent him into a spiral of anxiety."

“He did look around for casual relationships, but did not find that satisfactory and for the past 12 months has been celibate," Acres continued. "One way of coping was to self-medicate with drugs, including ketamine and crystal meth. These drugs lower inhibitions quite drastically and there was some use of pornography, and with the drugs, that led him down this route of setting up the camera."

“He says he now feels quite sick about it and it is something he would never do again, but came about due to his isolation and taking these drugs.”

In addition to paying fines and completing 150 hours of community service, Hendy must sign the sex offenders register for five years.

Asos, which has suspended Hendy, also made headlines this week for releasing a crop top for men.
