Not impressed
If it feels like everyone and their mother (especially the mothers) is obsessed with Ryan Gosling, keeper of peace on the streets, enter Aubrey Plaza. The Parks and Recreation star had not the faintest idea who the meme-worthy actor was when he introduced himself to her. Rolling Stone got the details from the deadpan comedian during a TV softball league game (Parks and Recreation versus “some Disney show”).
“I was at this juice bar, and he came in. I didn’t recognize him. He said, ‘I’m a big fan of the show,’ and I said, ‘Thank you. Are you an actor?’ He kind of smirked and said, ‘Yeahhh…’ I asked his name, and he said, ‘Ryan,’ but it didn’t click. I was like, ‘We worked together, didn’t we? You look so familiar.’ He kept smirking, like I was messing with him. I got my juice and left.”
The snub wasn’t intentional; however, as Plaza ends her story with a sigh: “I missed my shot.” Maybe if Gosling had led with “Hey girl,” he would have been more recognizable. But the moral of this story is Ryan Gosling likes Park and Recreation. That’s one of our favorite shows! Ryan, call us, we have so much in common!
