Troye Sivan Doesn’t Think His Beef With Azealia Banks Was a Thing. She Disagrees.

All he said was he liked her music...

The Troye Sivan, Azealia Banks feud is back on.

The “My, My, My!” singer, who is doing press for his new album Bloom and for the conversion therapy themed film he appears in, Boy Erased, recently appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, where host Andy Cohen put him in the hot seat.

Cohen asked Sivan what he would say to Banks if they found themselves riding in the same elevator. She heard his answer, and while it was seemingly innocent and complimentary, she wasn’t having it.

Before we get to his answer, some background: Back in January, Sivan was asked in an interview if he would ever be interested in collaborating with any rappers.

“I mean, I was a huge Azealia Banks fan. That all just kind of like went south a little bit,” he said. “It’s just one of those annoying things where you just want to support (her) so bad, and it just doesn’t work out like that.”

Banks didn’t take kindly to those remarks, hence Cohen’s question regarding what he would do if they met in a confined space.

“Probably nothing,” Sivan answered Cohen. “Like we would just awkwardly ride the elevator together. Maybe I would say, ’Hey.’ Actually, it’s weird because it’s not even a thing, but there was a little ’thing,’ but I would just say, ’Hey, I love your music.’ Because I do, that’s true.”

Despite the fact that Sivan expressed love for her music, and the fact he was answering a question put to him by Cohen, Banks, fresh off a feud with Grimes and Elon Musk and in the middle of inserting herself into the Nicki Minaj and Cardi B fight, decided she also had time to restart her beef with the singer.

So far, Sivan has not responded in kind.

Probably wise.
