'Bachelorette' Recap: Des Portends DOMA/Prop 8 SCOTUS Decision By Sending Home Meatheads

[caption id="attachment_108031" align="aligncenter" width="500"]Too easy Too easy[/caption]

This week is an important one for love! Not only will the Supreme Court make a decision on DOMA and Prop 8, Des has weeded out two more poor husband potentials from her moveable garden of men. Since Straight Guy had an important meeting last night, I watched The Bachelorette with my Backup Straight Guy, who was a huge Des fan when she was on Sean's season, but has since fallen out of lust with her.

One-on-One with Chris

Des and the men have traveled to Munich, Germany, where Chris gets the first one-on-one date. In the interest of spicing up the the trip a bit, the producers have Bryden tell Des during her date with Chris that he wants to go home because he isn't feeling it with her anymore... and also he's probably sick of the producers f*cking with his hair. He's had that same haircut since high school, and he doesn't want to change it, okay?!

After Bryden mumbles something about leaving, Des says she's okay, but Chris decides to keep pressing the issue because he says, "I think it's very important in a relationship to develop a well of communication." Backup Straight Guy says, "smart man," which he would know after being in a longterm relationship. When a girl says she's cool, but she looks like this:

... she's not.

Chris gets a rose, because kudos for knowing a woman, Chris! Plus he's pretty hot.

Group Date

Really not much that needs to be said about this. Des takes a bunch of the dudes to a mountain to sled and yodel. They play around like a bunch of kids, and while some guys are kissing Des in dimly lit igloos, Mikey builds mini snowmen with her, pretty much foreshadowing his demise.

Two-on-One with Michael and Ben

This is by far the most spectacular part of the show. It's East Coast lawyer Michael vs. Texan jobless entrepreneur Ben. Michael keeps on attacking Ben for being fake, questioning Ben's relationship with his son as well as his Christian faith. Ben pretends to go OFF, getting so 'heated' he has to finally step outside during dinner in order to collect himself. Because no one has ever attacked his faith before.

Even though Michael is a little aggressive in calling Ben out on the date, making Des uncomfortable, at least he's got the balls to do so. And he totally pulls it off because Des ends up keeping Michael and sending home Ben! I guess his years of experience as a prosecutor have paid off after all.

Rose Ceremony

Mikey T. goes home.
