Barbra Streisand Sings to Donald Trump in Passionate New Single, “Don’t Lie to Me”

"Every morning I was afraid to turn on the news. I'm fired up."

Barbra Streisand is worried about the future.

The pop culture icon has announced a new album, Walls, due out November 2, and she has released the first single, “Don’t Lie to Me,” from the upcoming collection.

The track was written by Streisand and has her asking questions such as: “How do you sleep while the world is burning?” and “why can’t you just tell me the truth?”

And yes, the song is about Donald Trump.

“I’m not singing to him, I’m singing about him,” Streisand told the Associated Press. “I’ve never responded to lies. Lies get me crazy.”

“After the election I became mortified and terrified. So I had to use my creative energry. I had to put it somewhere. Thank god I have music in my life, so I have a forum, a way to express my feelings,” she explained.

“Every morning I was afraid to turn on the news. I’m fired up.”
